—STATEMENT OF FAITH—
The Scriptures: We believe the Bible is, uniquely and entirely, the verbally inspired Word of God, without error and infallible in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible is completely trustworthy and the supreme authority in all matters of life and faith. (Psalm 19:7-9; Matthew 5:17-18; John 17:17; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
God: We believe there is one God, the Almighty Creator and Sustainer of all things, existing eternally in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and possessing the same attributes and perfections. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; II Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God. (John 1:1, 10:33; Colossians 2:9) We believe in: His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:17; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11; Acts 2:22); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9; I Peter 3:18); His bodily resurrection (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His intercession to the Father on our behalf (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25); His personal and imminent return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16).
The Holy Spirit: We believe that God, the Holy Spirit dwells in every true believer. (I Corinthians 3:16; II Corinthians 6:16-17) We believe that the Holy Spirit seals every believer, spiritually uniting them with one another. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:26-28; Ephesians 1:13) We believe the Holy Spirit enables the trusting, obedient believer to live a holy life (Romans 8:13-14; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18) and continues to endow believers, according to His will, with gifts for the purpose of building up the body. (I Corinthians 12:4-11) We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers for their witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:8)
The Condition of Man: We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, in innocence, and without sin. In Adam’s sin humanity fell, became spiritually dead and alienated from God, inherited a sinful nature, and justly deserves God’s wrath and condemnation. We believe that man is incapable of redeeming himself from his lost depraved condition. (Genesis 1:26, 3:1-24; Romans 3:10-18, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3)
The Work of Christ: We believe that God’s eternal Son, Jesus Christ, became man, without ceasing to be God, in order to reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe Christ voluntarily offered Himself as our sacrificial substitute on the cross, satisfying God’s righteous judgment against sin. We believe God’s only provision for our sin is Christ’s death on our behalf, through which God reconciles us to Himself. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; II Corinthians 5:21)
Salvation: We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is a gift of God’s grace, cannot be gained by any work, and is provided on the single ground of trust in Christ’s death on the cross. All who trust in Christ in this way are forgiven of their sins and born into God’s family by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. (John 3:16-19; Romans 3:23, 5:1-9; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; I John 1:8-2:2)
The Church: We believe that the Church, called the Body of Christ in scripture, is a spiritual organism and that every true believer is a member of this one Body. We also believe that the Bible affirms the establishment and continuation of local churches, groups of Christian believers called together for worship, instruction, fellowship and service. (John 17:20-23; Acts 2:42, 13:1, I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:12-22) We believe the mission of the Church is to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 1:8)
Eternal State: We believe that at the moment of death, the spirits of all who trust in Christ for salvation immediately enter Christ’s presence, awaiting the resurrection of life and the inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven prepared for the redeemed from the foundation of the world. We believe that at death the spirits of all who do not trust Christ for salvation immediately enter into conscious separation from God, awaiting the resurrection of condemnation and confinement in the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. (Luke 16:19-26; II Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15)
Our Lifestyle Statement
>>What We Practice<<
Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions. Based on what the Bible teaches, we feel very strongly about the following practices:
VIRTUOUS WOMEN WORLD INTERNATIONAL (VWWI)
& HER CORE BIBLICAL VALUES
- God Honoring-The VWWI believes God is King, Savior and Lord of the Church. He holds first place in the Christian’s life and church body. He has redeemed sinful man and filled him with His Spirit. The people of the VWWI live and minister to bring honor to Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the only way possible to live the Christian life is by God’s power within us. So we seek to practice a daily dependence on God’s Spirit to enable us to do what is right.
- Bible Centered, Spirit-filled-The VWWI affirms that the believer’s life and doctrine must be based on the Word of God. The Bible is God’s personal revelation to man and is the final authority in faith and conduct. Since God’s Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living. Our first question when faced with a decision is “What does the Bible say?” We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study, and Bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe. At VWWI, we also seek to encourage believers to enter into, and live, a Holy Spirit-filled life, bearing the fruit of the Spirit and empowered to be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Prayer Committed-The VWWI is committed to intercessory prayer, believing that faith-filled prayer touches the heart of God and brings his blessings, power and purposes into our lives, our church, our city and nation and to the world. Prayer permeates the life and activity of VWWI.
- Relationship Oriented-The VWWI affirms that every believer is part of the Body of Christ and therefore part of one another. The VWWI promotes loving and caring relationships and ministry one to another.
- Unity Promoting– The VWWI is a diverse community made up of people from different national, racial, ethnic and denominational backgrounds. This is a source of strength and beauty, and while the people of the fellowship are different in many ways, they find oneness and intimacy in the Spirit of God who lives in each believer.
- VisionBuilding-The VWWI believes that God places a personal call on each believer’s life and as a body we desire to facilitate that call so that we, as both individuals and as an organization, may fulfill that to which we are called. VWWI is a place of building vision.
- Mission Focused-It is the responsibility of every Christian to share the Good News with those with whom God brings us into contact. We practice personal sharing about Christ and inviting friends to be a part of us. The VWWI exists to make Christ known among the nations. The Ministry strives to make disciples of all who will follow Christ and who are then empowered to reproduce themselves in others. Our energy, time and resources are given generously to this end.
- Ministry Empowering–The VWWI is divinely and strategically placed to serve as a catalyst and empowering organism for the fulfillment of God’s purposes in the area it serves. The VWWI actively seeks to create and facilitate opportunities of service for individuals and organizations in ways that could not be realized without the dynamic the Ministry supplies. We believe in the priesthood of the believer. The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to “full time” Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry. Every believer has direct access to God through Christ in prayer and Biblereading.
